It was decided in the year of 2007 to hold the Reykjavík International Games for the first time. For many years there had been strong tournaments in Track and field and Swimming at the same weekend in Laugardalur, the Valley of sports, were many strong athletes have taken part through the years.

Now with the support from the Reykjavík city and our sponsors we can offer 12 different sports with disabled athletes in three of them. In our second games the bowlers and disabled swimmers took part for the first time and there inclusion have been a big success. In 2011 we will also offer competition in archery, table tennis and powerlifting.

Big part of our Games are the Opening and Closing ceremonies where everybody comes together and have a wonderful time.
